Hi, I'm David and welcome to my portfolio. I generally don't like to talk about myself, but here goes.
Growing up, I wanted to be a marine biologist (also, the starting point guard for the NY Knicks.) I graduated with a degree in Marine Biology from the University of Connecticut and I had high hopes of being the next Jacque Cousteau. But life took me in a different direction – art direction.
I have worked at some of NYC's top ad agencies. From Ogilvy Worldwide, to Y&R and others. After years of working for other people, I decided to open my own shop. For 15 years, I was owner and Creative Director of Happy Dog Advertising (named after my beloved Chocolate Lab.) I've worked on major clients from American Express, AT&T, Timex and Sub-Zero to some of the smallest clients – from a gelato shop to a local florist (my mother-in-law's, by the way.)
My passion is to create beautiful and unique creative that will set my clients apart from their competitors. But just being beautiful and different, doesn’t necessarily work unless it’s conceptual. I hope you can see in my work – whether it's a print ad, TV, outdoor, direct mail, a logo, or digital – how a meaningful and strong concept will work across all medias.
If you'd like to talk, I can tell you how I arrived at my final work. But to be sure, the best creative I've ever produced, are my daughters, Kate and Grace.
I look forward to hearing from you.
